Description

Length : 51 cm. Size: About the size of a village chicken. Identification : All white white. Yellow beak and dark legs. During the breeding season, the head, neck and back are covered with reddish orange feathers; The legs become red, the skin between the beak and eyes becomes red. Often seen with cattle, on their backs. Plowing is always seen in fields. Grazing and swarming at night. Range : Resident. Everywhere in Maharashtra. Habitat: Malrane, paddy fields, banks of ponds, paddy fields, city garbage sites, forest clearings. Food: Grasshoppers, frogs, night insects, lizards, buffaloes, gophers, fishes etc.
